University Specialist Employment Partnerships (USEP) program

Connecting university students with disability to graduate jobs

Flinders is one of the select few (one of six) universities partnering in a pilot program USEP, launched recently at Flinders, with a dedicated employment specialist, on campus one day a week, to meet the specific needs of graduating or graduated students with disability seeking employment.

Working between the Careers & Employability Team and the University’s Disability Services Team, our specialist, Sascha Lemon-Spence, provides additional support and a bridge for students about to enter post-University life and employment.

Sascha can assist with resume and interview preparation, as well as, importantly, assistance in how to address and manage some of the difficulties that may arise, including linking to a DES provider, accessing NDIS and support services once studies are completed.

A lot of students can be anxious about talking about challenges or worried about disclosure, students may also be assuming they may not be eligible – and this is where Sascha can help.

If you know someone who may be able to take advantage of this service, please share this opportunity and encourage students or recent graduates to contact Sascha.

Find out more and book a chat with Sascha via CareerHub (USEP).
