A/Prof. Sharron King — Head of UniSA College
Dr Cathy Stone — Conjoint A/Prof., University of Newcastle; Adjunct Fellow, NCSEHE

Monday 16 September — 10 am to 12 noon ACST University of South Australia City West Campus, Adelaide

This two-hour workshop will present and explore the findings from recent research, conducted by the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE) for the NSW Department of Education, on post-school intentions of Year 11 and 12 students on ATAR pathways at regional schools.

This will be followed by an overview of research, due to commence in early 2020, to investigate transitions to university from regional South Australian high schools. This research aims to build on the previous New South Wales research and extend it to the South Australian context.

Discussion will focus on the types of issues facing South Australian regional high school students, which may impact their post-school education choices. Workshop participants will be invited to contribute their thoughts and suggestions on questions and issues that could be usefully explored within the South Australian research.

The workshop is aimed at university equity practitioners, as well as other academic and professional staff with an interest in the educational opportunities and outcomes for students at regional high schools.

Places are limited, so RSVP is essential: Register via Eventbrite.
