In what was clearly a tough and competitive year for teaching award applications, one Flinders applicant stood out to assessors.

Professor Kate Douglas has been awarded an AAUT Citation for ‘Research-led teaching in literary studies: Sharing innovative methods and demonstrating leadership through high-quality international scholarship that influences research and enhances the student experience’. With a firm belief that ‘the relationship between teaching and research is the heart of academia’, Kate leads by example by bringing her research into the classroom. She is highly valued by her students, respected by her colleagues, and an asset to the College of HASS and Flinders more generally.
