Echoing this article from Educause Review encouraging us to conceptualise the recent quick conversion to online as ‘Emergency Remote Teaching’, Dr Liz Branigan, A/PVC (Educational Transformation) at La Trobe writes in Campus Morning Mail that the work we have done to teach remotely in response to COVID-19 restrictions suited the needs of the time but going forward we need to embrace the research and inculcate “purposefully crafted and well-designed on-line learning” as core to transformative higher education.
