Introducing… Anna Smith

Each month we profile a member of CILT staff, giving a glimpse into what makes them tick. This month we profile Anna Smith, Project Officer, Learning and Teaching in CILT.

What do you like the most about working at Flinders?
It’s a cliché, but for me it really is about the people, and our shared sense of purpose. We are all here because we believe in the value of education, and whether we are teaching staff, researchers, professional staff or somewhere in between we are all contributing to the growth and betterment of society through education and research. How great is that?!

What’s one thing that can instantly make your day better?
I’m an advocate of mindfulness, and cherishing each moment for what it is, so for me it is often the small encounters that give me joy – watching a butterfly, hearing people laugh, receiving, or even better offering, a compliment.

What is something you are looking forward to?
I am looking forward to 2022 bringing moments of calm, and what I’m hoping will be a sense of community reunification and optimism. The last few years have been challenging, to say the least, and I think we all deserve a break.
