Student Led Teaching Awards 2021: Winners Announced

Flinders University Students Association (FUSA) hosted the inaugural Student Led Teaching Awards in Semester 2, 2021. Read on to find out who the lucky winners are.

Students were asked to nominate the staff that they thought provided a noteworthy student learning experience. A panel of student judges drawn from different Colleges was then tasked with selecting the winning nominations in all the categories. The student panel included experienced course and topic representatives, chaired by the 2021 Student President Sean Henchske, and met in November 2021 to make their decisions.

The full list of winners, honourable mentions, and judges can be found here: https://fusa.edu.au/slta/

As the first year the awards are run, it was great to see how enthusiastically students responded – with nearly 100 separate submissions across the categories for the judges to assess. At the same time, the submissions will help us organise future awards: for example, students wanted a way to recognise the role that peer mentors have in creating a positive student learning environment.

FUSA look forward to running the Student Led Teaching Awards again this year – and congratulations to all the winners!
