Currently the recipient of an Endeavour Award, Dongwon has been at Flinders for the last 5 months, conducting comparative historical research on users’ experiences of 1980s microcomputing. Working with Melanie Swalwell and Helen Stuckey, Dongwon has developed an extended version of the Popular Memory Archive developed by the Play It Again project.

The new PMA is here. The researchers plan to continue their collaboration online, after Dongwon returns to Seoul in September.

Dr Jo will be affiliated with the Institute for East Asian Studies (IEAS) at Sungkonghoe University in Seoul, South Korea (2016-2017). He will be researching a digital cultural history of East Asia, with a focus on the introduction of microcomputers by way of cloning at the electronics markets in early 1980s Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and Korea. We wish him all the best with his future research!
