Alumni who graduated in 1972 attended their 40 Year Reunion on Friday 30 November. Held in Red Vines in Flinders One (formerly known as The Union), many memories of the early 70s were relived and recounted. Many attendees who had not seen each other since graduation took great delight in catching up and renewing friendships. 1972 was a time when Flinders was still young and very few students had jobs meaning they were on campus all day, every day, which in turn meant a very vibrant and active campus life. Guest speaker was Ian Yates AM (BA ’72) who reflected on the University and its communities in the 70s and how it shaped the lives of its students. Ian is now Deputy Chancellor of Flinders and has played a major part in shaping its alumni relations over the last 20 years. The 1973 40 Year Reunion will be held in late November 2013.
