A message from Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Barber

Flinders University is approaching a major milestone – on 25 March 2016 we will celebrate our 50th birthday as one of Australia’s most innovative universities.  Over those 50 years we believe that the greatest contribution we have made to the communities we serve are you, our alumni. You have taken your education, added life experiences and professional development and are now making a substantial impact in your preferred field.

Flinders Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Barber

The University takes pride in your achievements and while we know some of your stories and have celebrated some of your successes, we would love to know more.   So please tell us.  As part of preparing for the 50th Anniversary we would like to showcase 50 alumni from across the fifty years whose subsequent careers have made a difference in their communities.

To encourage you we will offer international alumni five return trips for you and your partner to Flinders for the 50th celebrations and five comparable package of airfares or benefits for Australian graduates.  So in 200 words or less please tell us what you have done, what impact you have had in your community and how you think Flinders’ education helped. You can send us an email or a video clip if you would prefer. We will review the submissions and the University’s alumni and media team will be in touch with the successful entrants to capture their stories through written profiles or videos. The prizes will be drawn at random from within the pool of the successful entrants. Please direct your submissions or enquiries to alumni@flinders.edu.au by 30 May 2014.

Unfortunately there are many alumni with whom we have lost touch. If you know of anyone who graduated from Flinders and whose contribution has made an impact on their community, please let us know and encourage them to join in the celebration.

There will be a number of exciting events and initiatives in which to become involved between now and 2016 and we will be in touch again soon.
