International Student Farewell

The Flinders University International Centre and Alumni Office hosted a farewell event on 8 July 2014 to thank international students for their time at, and contributions to, Flinders, during their stay in Adelaide.

Approximately 270 international students will soon depart for their home countries and the farewell celebrated their achievements and welcomed them to the Flinders Alumni family.

Upon graduation, the students will automatically join the Flinders alumni network which offers the opportunity to develop a lifelong relationship with Flinders and a way to build a professional network that can advance career and personal aspirations.

The students were represented by a diverse range of countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, United States of America, South Korea, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Philippines, Mongolia, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia.

Among the departing students are 32 Australia Award recipients. The Australia Awards Scholarship (AAS) program is funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through the Scholarships and Alumni Branch, Public Diplomacy and Communications Division. The goal of the program is to develop capacity and leadership skills so that AAS recipients can contribute to development in their home countries.

The International Centre and Alumni Office wish our departing international students all the very best for their future endeavours.
