SA Scientist of the Year 2014

Flinders graduate, Professor Anthony Thomas, Australian Laureate Fellow and Elder Professor of Physics at the University of Adelaide, was named South Australian Scientist of the Year at the 2014 South Australian Science Excellence Awards.  Professor Thomas has created a globally visible program that is at the forefront of subatomic physics.  He completed a PhD in Physical Science at Flinders in 1975 after receiving a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in the early 1970s.  In 1991, he was the inaugural recipient of the Flinders University Convocation Medal

Category: Early Career STEM Educator of the Year – School Teaching

Dr Sam Moyle, (PhD Med 2009, BSc Honours 2002, BSc 2001), Science Teacher, Brighton Secondary School.

Flinders Lecturer, Karen Burke da Silva, was awarded the Early Career STEM Educator of the Year – Tertiary Teaching.
