My Aunty was a nurse and ever since I was little she would foster my interest in the natural world and human physiology. She would take me into the backyard to catch insects and study their anatomy, explain medical terms to me, and tell me all about how to care for people. Because of her, I drove an hour every day to Flinders University to study Paramedic Science.
Now I work as a paramedic and see the wonderful work nurses do each day, and am so in awe of their patience, nurturing, intelligence, and tenacity. They truly are the BEST.
If you want something done – ask a nurse. They are the backbone of every major hospital and I was so lucky to have a strong and capable nurse in my family who inspired me to work in the medical field.
