New Acting Director for SALHN Office for Research

Professor Andrew Bersten has a research career spanning over 30 years, both in Australia and overseas. He is, in both clinical and basic research, recognised for his expertise in respiratory physiology, and has extensive laboratory experience particularly in the induction and determination of lung injury in both large and small animal models. He is also Director of the ICCU at Flinders Medical Centre, which is a large facility that manages around 2200 critically ill patients per year, and has been productively involved in both small clinical studies and large multi-centre sponsored clinical trials. In March 2018 he took on the role of Acting Director of the Office for Research.
