1. Beat Cancer Project ECR travel funding

Support is available to offset the costs of travel and accommodation for early-career South Australian Cancer Researchers (PhD and Masters research students, and other early-career researchers, no more than 5 years post-doctoral) who have been invited to present their work at a national or international scientific meeting, or who can show that attendance at such meetings would have a direct positive impact on their career. The scheme is also available to early-career researchers to fund travel costs to undertake short-term study/exchange at a national or international location.

Eligible applications may come from across the research spectrum, including biomedical, clinical, health-services and population-health research. Applicants should be PhD/Masters Research students, or other early-career researchers who are no more than 5 years post-doctoral.

Recipients of the last Beat Cancer Project Travel Grant funding round (2018) are not eligible to apply in the current (2019) round.

Closing date May 6, 2019

Funding Available: Up to $5,000* per applicant to support short-term exchange arrangements; up to $2,500 to support conference attendance and travel.

2. Research entry scholarship

 

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians invites applications for the Arnott research entry scholarship in cancer research. This supports research into the causes and prevention of cancer.

The scholarship is worth up to AUD 45,000 for one year and is tenable in Australia and New Zealand.

Research Entry Scholarships provide stipend support to assist Fellows and trainees who are at the start of their research careers and are enrolled or about to enrol in a Masters, PhD or equivalent research higher degree.

RACP NHMRC Awards for Excellence support the top young clinical researchers with an Award for Excellence, as part of a shared commitment to nurture the next generation of medical researchers. 3. The Hospital Research Foundation Early Career Fellowships

The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) is pleased to invite applications for its 2019 Early Career Fellowships Grant Round.

The maximum amount that can be requested is $120,000 per annum, up to a total of $240,000 over 2 years.

An independent, interstate review panel of assessors will grade all eligible submissions.

The deadline for applications is Sunday May 26, 2019.

4. The Hospital Research Foundation Mid Career Fellowships

The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) is pleased to invite applications for its 2019 Mid Career Fellowships Grant Round.

The maximum amount that can be requested is $160,000 per annum, up to a total of $480,000 over 3 years.

An independent, interstate review panel of assessors will grade all eligible submissions.

The deadline for applications is Sunday May 26, 2019.
