These support gastroenterology and hepatology research investigators in undertaking novel research that may lead to future grants. Pilot, feasibility studies or secondary analysis of existing data may be supported. The grant may be used to develop research methodology or technology, or to complete a smaller study in its entirety. Please check guidelines when they open for the priority areas.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or hold an appropriate visa grant notice. They must have been financial members of the society for at least one full year and be within eight years of obtaining their PhD or higher degree equivalent. They must not have been a lead investigator or have received funding worth AUD 200,000 in 2019. Applicants must have a position at, and approval from, an appropriate institution for the research to take place, and they must conduct it in Australia.
The total budget is AUD 175,000. Grants are worth up to AUD 25,000 each for one year.
