Flinders alumna acknowledged with Young Achiever Award

Flinders University alumnus Dr Lauren Jones has recently won the 7News 2023 winner SA Young Achiever STEM Award. The awards acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding achievements of young people throughout South Australia, 30 years of age and under.

This award recognizes Dr Jones’ exceptional contributions to the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and we commend her for her hard work and dedication to these fields. Dr Jones was voted on by a group of senior peers, which is a testament to the quality and impact of her work.

While Dr Jones could not be present to accept the award due to her post-doctoral position at University College London, we applaud her for her achievement and extend our congratulations to her family who collected the award on her behalf.

Dr Jones’ success is not only a personal achievement but also serves as an inspiration to all young people, particularly young women, who are often underrepresented in STEM fields. We encourage and promote the positive achievements of all young people throughout South Australia and wish Dr Lauren Jones continued success in all her future endeavors.
