Safety first, especially in a pandemic

October is SafeWork month and an opportunity to recognise Flinders University staff who volunteer to support the health and wellbeing of everyone at our campuses.

With this year dominated by COVID-19 and the impacts it has had in the workplace, SafeWork’s 2020 campaign is calling for everyone to work together to get through the pandemic. It’s also focused on looking after our own mental health in these challenging times. Further information can be found on the SafeWork website.

The University’s Work Health and Safety unit thanks all staff who volunteer to undertake roles that support everyone’s health and wellbeing at Flinders. This includes our First Aiders, Fire Wardens, Mental Health First Aiders and Health and Safety Representatives.

There are also many staff who have given their all this year to deal with COVID-19 and the challenges it has brought. All have contributed to making the University a safer place and on behalf of the broader University, the WH&S team says thank you.
