Thanks for doing your bit to fight COVID-19

Flinders University staff who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be offered two extra days of ‘vax leave’s they’re taking the extended break over Christmas, with President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling saying this is to “recognise and reward all staff who have done their bit to help defeat COVID-19”.

“Thank you for protecting yourselves, thank you for protecting your family and communities. Thank you for doing the right thing for South Australia, and making the right decisions during the pandemic,”  Professor Stirling said during an interview on ABC Radio this morning.

“I think it’s important that we emphasise that this is the right thing to do.”

The two days of leave will form part of extended leave bookings staff will have over the festive season. Staff are encouraged to use this leave over the Christmas shutdown period, to ensure they can enjoy a decent break during this time.

Flinders University People and Culture will provide additional information in the coming weeks, articulating the process and any action that may be required to access this leave.

Don’t forget – Professor Stirling is hosting a Town Hall meeting at 1pm on Wednesday 21 September. Check out the Upcoming Events section of Flinders in Touch for more information.
