October is Safe Work Month

Throughout October, we’re celebrating National Safe Work Month, and encourage everyone to think safe, work safe and be safe.

SafeWork SA is running several free seminar sessions and activities that cover a range of topics, including mental health awareness and looking after young workers. Please see the National Safe Work Month website for further information about these sessions.

Staff are also remind they can access a range of free training materials that are available through the Flinders University WHS website, including a large range of videos on Safety Hub that cover everything from manual handling to chemicals, and from driving to COVID-19.

The WHS Unit would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff who volunteer to undertake roles that support everyone’s safety and wellbeing at Flinders University. This includes our First Aiders, Fire Wardens, Mental Health First Aiders, Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Health and Safety Committee members. These are among many staff who contribute to making Flinders University a safer place to be and to work – and we thank you.
