Dinner’s on Cosi to welcome back students

After two years of studying online, international students are once again making their way to Australian shores – and to help welcome them back, StudyAdelaide joined with South Australian media personality Andrew “Cosi” Costello (from the Channel 7 TV program South Aussie with Cosi) to host a dinner for 10 international students at the Henley Surf Life Saving Club on Thursday 10 February.

Flinders PhD student and accredited dietician Chad Han, and Bachelor of Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) student Janageeth Logeswaren were among the guests, having been nominated by members of the community.

Janageeth, a recipient of the Vice-Chancellor Scholarship, has been studying online from his home in Sri Lanka, and is thrilled to finally be back on Australian soil.

“My final decision to study in Australia was down to the quality of education, but the amazing weather was definitely a factor, so it’s great that we’re finally able to experience that again,” says Janageeth.

“It also doesn’t hurt that Adelaide is one of the friendliest cities I’ve been to, and definitely lives up to the reputation of being one of the most liveable cities in the world. I’ve been in SA for about 7 weeks and I haven’t met a kangaroo yet, but hopefully soon!”
