Two Flinders University educators have been recognised for their significant contributions to the quality of student learning in Universities Australia’s annual Australian Awards for University Teaching.

Associate Professor Christine Barry and Dr Voula Gaganis, both from the College of Medicine and Public Health, were recipients of the Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning.

The citations are awarded each year to individuals or teams whose contribution to their chosen field has had a significant impact on the quality of student learning. This year, 78 citations were awarded to recipients at universities across the nation.

The Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) were established in 1997 by the Australian Government to celebrate and reward excellence in university teaching, and recognise the impact that educators have on the learning and teaching experiences and outcomes of university students.

Recipients, with the support of their institutions, contribute to systemic change in learning and teaching through the ongoing sharing and dissemination of knowledge.
