Donors thanked for the impact they make

Flinders University’s annual Impact of Giving event was hosted by President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Colin Stirling on Friday 8 April to thank donors whose contributions have been of great benefit to education and research at the University.

The event, held at Alere Function Centre, was a great opportunity for the audience to hear directly from scholarship recipients and our world-class researchers on how philanthropy is having an impact in the local community and across the world.

Guests heard from Arvind, a student who received the Matthew Flinders Scholarship during a time of need, and were moved by words from Ann – the mother of Marcus, who has been supported by Professor Robyn Young’s early-intervention autism research at Flinders.

The event concluded with Associate Professor Simone Tur giving a tour of the newly-developed Yunggorendi Inparrila gathering space, which was supported by the Shirley Matthews bequest.
