National award for leadership excellence 

Flinders University staff member Dr Dani Milos has received national recognition for her innovative and contemporary approach to teaching, learning and mentoring, and for the ongoing support to peer-delivered programs that have made a difference to graduate researchers in their candidature, progression and wellbeing.

Dr Milos, from the Office of Graduate Research, was awarded the Award for Excellence in Graduate Research Leadership from the Australian Council of Graduate Research (ACGR).

The Graduate Research Leadership Award is conferred to an individual in a research training leadership role who demonstrates inspirational and effective local graduate research leadership at a School, Faculty or other academic unit level.

In addition, Dr Milos had a strong leadership role in developing Flinders University’s graduate research education program, one of the most successful programs in Australia.

Each year, these awards proudly celebrate the highly committed leaders and supervisors of graduate research candidates who work with industry partners and end-users to foster the next generation of Australian researchers and innovators.

The annual awards publicly promote outstanding performance in higher degree research supervision, leadership and industry engagement. This year the awards recognise some exceptional academic staff whose dedication, professionalism and innovative practice truly makes a difference to research cultures, HDR student experience and industry partnerships.
