Upgrade works have commenced in car park 8, while the audit of hazardous substances continues across campus. Further works include a planned power outage in the Mark Oliphant building and building closures as electrical maintenance occurs in July.
Car park 8 works
Works to upgrade car park 8 have commenced and will continue until the end of July. This involves extending the car park and upgrading the line markings. There may be some noise and dust during the works. The car park will remain closed for the duration of these works.
Audit continues
You may see contractors in the following buildings between 14 June and 1 July as they undertake an audit of hazardous substances:
- Matthew Flinders Theatre
- Drama Centre
- Humanities
- Function Centre
- Social Sciences North
- Social Sciences South
- Pendopo
- Law and Commerce
Please note, the schedule is approximate and subject to ongoing change. We anticipate that the building audits across the whole campus will be completed by early October.
Planned power outage for Mark Oliphant building
Critical network upgrading is planned for the Mark Oliphant Building. This requires an electrical power outage for levels 1 and 3, and a comms outage for the whole building (internet, phones etc).
The outage is planned for Saturday 25 June and is expected to last for around two hours between approximately 8am and 10am.
Some buildings closures on weekends in July for electrical maintenance
A reminder that essential high voltage electrical maintenance will take place on campus over two weekends in July, resulting in a series of power outages across Bedford Park buildings. This is part of a rolling three-year program of maintenance works.
For safety reasons, buildings will be closed in line with this schedule and no access will be permitted. As the buildings will be closed, there will also be no lift access within these buildings. If you have access requirements, please use car park 6 for the Hub and Library. If you require access assistance at any time, please contact Security on 8201 2880.
Please ensure you save all work and shut down computers and equipment ahead of these times.
