Wear It Purple at the Queer Collective Fair

Put on your favourite purple outfit and head to The Hub between Wednesday 24 August and Friday 26 August, to take part in the Flinders Queer Collective’s Wear It Purple Fair.

The Hub will be a hive of activity through these three days, with LGBTQIA+ students invited to present a stall that promotes their small business or social group. Students keen to have their stall featured can contact the Queer Collective here: flindersqueercollective@gmail.com

In addition to the three-day fair, the Queer Collective has collaborated with The Tav management to take over the usual Wednesday night quiz night on 24 August. The Queer Collective will also be hosting a film night on Thursday 25 August and a Bingo Night on Friday 26 August, so there’s something for everyone to be involved with.

The Flinders University Pride Network is hosting its first official event since being re-launched with a special morning tea at Alere Function Centre from 10am on Friday 26 August, featuring:

  • Welcome to Country from Uncle Lewis Yarlupurka O’Brien, Flinders Elder in Residence.
  • A special performance from superstar queer poet Chris Jaksa.
  • A panel discussion exploring avenues to create safe universities for LGBTQIA+ young people.
