New pilot program to help support children

Child development screening tools from the Caring Futures Institute (CFI) have been chosen by the South Australian Government for two new pilot programs to expand free child development checks.

The pilot program will test for the expansion of child development screening. The first model, conducted by CFI in collaboration with Goodstart Early Learning, will be expanded to more areas as part of the government’s Early Learning Strategy goal of increasing checks to reach 80% of South Australian children.

Development checks will be delivered at more than 40 playgroups across the state and reach more than 400 children.

Associate Professor Yvonne Parry spoke about the pilots and the benefits of increasing reach of these checks on local TV – click here to view the interview.
