Humanities Building facelift begins

HMRB – traffic management near Sports Road roundabout

Over the coming weeks we will start works to improve the intersection at the Sports Road roundabout next to the HMRB building. For stage 1 there will be traffic controllers on site. Access will remain open to car park P12 and from the multideck. Signage will be in place for changing pedestrian paths as work progresses.

NOTE: access parks in front of HMRB have been relocated into car park P12, just north of the end of the train line.

Please slow down and stay safe, be aware of changing conditions and follow all instructions from traffic controllers.

Advance Notice: Tonsley high voltage electrical shutdown

Starting mid-September, the two-yearly high voltage electrical shut-down will take place at the Tonsley building. Power supply will be interrupted, and the building will be closed during the shut-down.  This electrical shutdown will not apply to items on emergency power circuits, including imaging equipment, clean room, walk-in freezer, IDS, or the Pods and Line Zero.

Humanities Building – scaffold in the Plaza area

On Tuesday 5 September 2023, the Humanities Façade project begins. This will involve erecting a scaffold on the western side (Plaza side) of the Humanities Building. The scaffold, which is likely to be there until the end of the year, will be encased in mesh to prevent access. Please be aware that the Plaza ramp in the immediate area will be closed.
