Taking care of penguins

Dr Diane Colombelli-Negrel

Dr Diane Colombelli-Negrel has been awarded a State Government grant to continue citizen science monitoring of penguins on Granite Island for a further three years. As part of monitoring conducted during 2023, the team will also embark on a tracking study to understand penguin movements in relation to the flow of the Murray River. Dr Colombelli-Negrel spoke about the study on ABC Radio Adelaide, which you can listen to here.

Bachelor of Exercise Science, Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology student Anu Francis is a world champion after winning gold at the World Triathlon Para Cup event held in Paris on 19 August.

Abdullah Hasan presenting at the Conference

Flinders PhD candidate Abdullah Hasan has been appointed as a national representative of the Kuwait Nursing Association and represented Kuwait and Flinders University at the International Council of Nurses. At the Conference, Mr Hasan presented on diabetes in high school-aged children, and conducted a session on ‘the nursing workforce in the Middle East’. He also met the Princess of Jordan, who has placed an emphasis on helping the nursing profession in the Middle East.
