The Flinders Elder Network invites all students and staff to this year’s Elders Forum on Thursday 21 September, where you can gain insights from respected community Elders and knowledge holders regarding the Voice to Parliament referendum.

Our distinguished panel includes Senior Elder-on-Campus, Dr Uncle Richard ‘Balang/Japaljarri’ Fejo, together with Mr Murphy Dhayirra Yunupingu, Yolŋu Cultural Leader and Cultural Educator, Aunty Miliwanga Sandy Wurrben, Elder and Cultural Educator and artist, activist and Flinders Lecturer, Aunty Pat Ansell Dodds.

This event offers a unique opportuzity to hear the perspectives and personal observations of these esteemed community figures on the discussions leading up to the referendum. Through respectful and reciprocal dialogue, the panel aims to elevate First Nations community voices by emphasising key aspects of discussion within their own communities.

We invite you to join us either, in-person in Darwin, on lovely Larrakia Country, where there will be afternoon tea and networking session following the event, or online, to engage in our community-informed exposition around the Voice to Parliament Referendum.
