New Public Interest Disclosure policy

A new Public Interest Disclosure Policy and supporting procedures are now in place at Flinders University, and information is available to help you understand and know your options and obligations.

The policy replaces the Whistleblower Statement and Procedures, to match the significant regulatory changes in this space over recent years, and to guide staff and other informants wishing to make a disclosure to the University.

The policy encourages all members of the University community to report concerns of possible wrongdoing or unsafe practices to the University or relevant external bodies. The procedures, which include Guidelines For Informants, set out the options for how informants may make a disclosure to the University, how the University supports informants who make disclosures, and the processes to be followed by those who receive or are responsible for investigating disclosures to the University.

Additionally, the policy and procedures cover the obligation of all University employees, officers and contractors who by law are public officers and are required to report corruption to the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption via the Office for Public Integrity (OPI) and misconduct or maladministration in public administration to the Ombudsman SA.

Please visit the Policy Library and familiarise yourself with your options and obligations under the Public Interest Disclosure Policy and Procedures. You can contact the Whistleblower Officer via whistleblower@flinders.edu.au if you need further information.

The staff Whistleblower webpage is in the process of being updated to align with the fresh information in this new policy.
