Snakes on a campus

We’re big fans of the local flora and fauna at Flinders, so unlike Samuel L. Jackson, we won’t be taking matters into our own hands – but remember to take care and act appropriately if you do see a snake on campus.

As the weather warms up, snake movement in our natural environment is more likely, so staff are reminded about our online snake awareness course to help improve your understanding of snakes and what to do if you encounter one while on campus.

The course includes information on:

  • Which snakes are likely to be found on campus
  • What to do if you see a snake
  • What to do if you are bitten by a snake

To enrol for the course, please register via the Flinders University staff development webpage.
