Engineering building lift replacement

Lift Replacement – Engineering Building, Bedford Park
On Monday 16 October, works will begin to replace the lift in the Engineering building, which will take the lift out of operation until the end of January 2024. It is important to note that there will be no lift access to Level 4 during this time. Mobility access to Level 3 will only be available from Car Park P15. If you will be affected, please contact Property, Facilities and Development as soon as possible.

Building Entry Door Replacement – Health Sciences Building
As part of Flinders’ plan to improve inclusive access around our campuses, the entry door to the Health Sciences building (on Level 3, across the walkway) is being converted to an automatic door. This means the door will be closed for use from Wednesday 18 to Wednesday 25 October. Alternative building entry will be via Level 1 South and/or North entry. PLEASE NOTE: These entries are not accessible for people with mobility restrictions. If you will be affected, please contact Property, Facilities and Development as soon as possible.

Upgrade of student kitchen at Sturt Café
The student kitchen at Sturt Café is being upgraded to make it more inclusive and meet mobility access requirements. It will be closed until Friday 20 October. An alternative kitchen with hot water is located in Sturt South Room 118.

Advance Notice: High Voltage Cable Trenching – Car Park P7
From 27 October to 15 December, a section of car park P7 will be closed while high voltage cable trenches are dug for a new transformer in the Biology Building. Temporary access parks will be made available immediately adjacent to this area. Pedestrian access to Anchor Court will remain open, but please take note of signs and exclusion zones.

Advance Notice: Tree Works – Plaza
On Saturday 28 October, contractors will be working on plane trees in the Plaza. The works are minor but will generate some noise.

Traffic management – Sports Road
Traffic management continues on Sports Road, with traffic reduced to one lane next to the Health and Medical Research Building for approximately two weeks. Temporary traffic lights will be in place to ensure steady traffic flow and appropriate management during peak times. Pedestrian access will be maintained past the site.
