Roadworks at Tonsley entrance
SA Water will close the eastbound lane of Tonsley Boulevard from Wednesday 8 to Wednesday 15 November to upgrade water mains. Vehicles will still be able to enter the Tonsley precinct from South Road and park in Tonsley Car Park P2, but will have to exit via Alawoona Ave at the rear of the Tonsley precinct. The Tonsley Link campus bus will continue to set down and pick up passengers at the same location but will use an alternate route to return to Bedford Park campus.
New Health2Go clinic
A new Health2Go paediatric clinic space is being built at Sturt campus. Construction has started and will continue until 20 December. Areas affected by the works are in Sturt East Levels 2 and 3, as well as the vehicle turnaround area between Sturt East and Sturt North. Please be aware of increased construction traffic in the laneway behind these buildings.
New date for Health Sciences Building work
Work on the Health Sciences Building entrance has been postponed until Monday 20 November. As part of Flinders’ plan to improve inclusive access around the campuses, the entry door to Health Sciences building (on Level 3 across the walkway) is being converted to an automated door. This means the door will be closed for the week commencing 20 November. Alternative building entry will be via Level 1 South and/or North entry – but please note that alternative entries are not accessible for people with mobility restrictions. If you will be affected, please phone Property, Facilities and Development on 8201 2733.
High-voltage cable trenching in Car Park P7
Preparatory works have started to install a new transformer for the Biology Building, with trenches being dug for high-voltage cables – although pedestrian access to Anchor Court remains open to both car parks P7 and P8. Access to car park P7 is through the breezeway from Anchor Court situated closest to the Physical Sciences Building. Access to car park P8 is through the breezeway from Anchor Court closest to the Biology Building. Please be aware of uneven surfaces along some parts of these temporary pedestrian routes. Pay attention to signage and exclusion zones and be mindful that you are walking past heavy machinery at work.
Lift replacement in Engineering Building
Work is underway to replace the lift in the Engineering Building – and it will remain out of operation until the end of January 2024. Note that no lift access to Level 4 is available during this time. Mobility access to Level 3 is via car park P15, and to Level 2 through the IST Building and walkway. Please contact Security on 8201 2880 if you need assistance with access.
Temporary Bus Stop Relocation
Work associated with Sports Drive and the HMRB building has resulted in the Campus Bus Stop at Flinders Station being moved to the other side of the road. Please take care and look for traffic as you cross the road.
Traffic Management – Sports Road
Traffic management continues on Sports Road, so please be aware of changed conditions. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Drivers are advised to slow down and pay attention to other road and footpath users.
