Get involved in International Women’s Day

The event, being held from 10.15-11.30am, will feature guest speaker and Flinders University Early Career Alumni Awardee Rikki Cooke, CEO and Founder of Treasure Boxes, who will address the 2024 International Women’s Day theme of Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress.

On-campus morning teas will also be held on campus at Darwin (CDU and RDH), Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine, Nhulunbuy, Barossa, Murray Bridge, Mount Gambier, Renmark and Victor Harbor. Please register by using the get tickets link and select the campus you will be attending. Additional information will be provided closer to the event.

Women’s economic empowerment is central to a gender-equal world. When women are given equal opportunities to earn, learn and lead – entire communities thrive.

At the event you will also be able to help women reach their potential by donating to Flinders University’s Jessie Cooper Scholarship for Women. This scholarship honours the first woman elected to State Parliament and provides financial assistance to mature-age women who face financial or personal circumstances preventing them from completing their degree.

Guests coming to the morning tea are also encouraged to bring along items to donate to Treasure Box. They are in desperate need of the following items, which must be new and unopened:

  • Baby, kids and adults shampoo and conditioner
  • Kids’ toothpaste
  • Hairbrushes (women)
  • Body wash (women)

Access to this free event is via a Mobile eTicket which can be downloaded here.

If you are not able to attend a morning tea in person, you can still join the event via livestream by clicking here.
