In the saddle thanks to Flinders grants

Flinders University Rural and Remote Health SA is helping fearless kids in our regional communities to achieve their goals through the 2023 Community Partnership Grants.

The Rural and Remote Health SA team awarded $2,000 to Riding for the Disabled at Oakbank as part of the grant scheme, which allowed the organisation to purchase two specially fitted saddles. Suited to smaller riders and ponies, with adjustable padding to suit the pony or horse wearing it, these new saddles will allow more people to participate in RSD’s renowned programs.

The Rotary Club of Murray Bridge used its grant funds for an environmental youth program, giving 14 Murraylands Year Six students the opportunity to participate in a camp at Calperum Station. The students were selected with the backing of their schools and come from areas including Coomandook, Callington, Jervois and Mannum.
