RAP Conference leads us to reconciliation

The 2024 Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Conference being held from Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 May will be a dynamic event that celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, fosters understanding and promotes reconciliation.

Held at both Flinders’ Bedford Park and Darwin campuses, the conference will be open to all staff and students, with sessions that have been thoughtfully designed to engage participants in meaningful discussions and learning experiences.

Staff and students can unleash their creativity in one of the art workshops led by talented Indigenous artists, or explore the rich cultural heritage of the Living Kaurna Cultural Centre (at Warriparinga, off Sturt Road in Bedford Park) and the Bedford Park campus for a guided cultural tour that features significant sites.

Associate Professor Ali Gumillya Baker will present the keynote address during the Conference, where she will share her expertise and passion for art and reconciliation.

You will be able to learn more about Flinders’ Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan 2023-2025 at the Flinders’ RAP Information Sessions during the conference, and discover how Flinders is embedding Indigenous perspectives across all aspects of University life.

Information sessions on Indigenous Student and Staff Strategies will also be held during the Conference, which will help build a more inclusive and equitable Flinders community.

You can view the whole schedule here.

Spaces to attend each session are extremely limited, so register today via iEnrol to make sure you don’t miss out on this great opportunity to connect, learn and take meaningful steps toward reconciliation.
