75kg of batteries recycled … so far

Flinders University now offers battery recycling – playing a part to help reduce toxic substances from leaching into our environment, and to stop fire hazards occurring from incorrect disposal of batteries.

In partnership with Envirostream Australia, Flinders recently recycled more than 75kg of used batteries from drop-off points around our campuses.

Multiple battery types can be recycled – so all you have to do is place some clear sticky tape over the + end of the battery (to reduce fire hazards), then drop your used batteries off at:

  • Central Library level 1 (next to photocopiers)
  • Sturt Library level 3 (next to vending machine)
  • Tonsley Library (outside entrance)

Visit the Resource Recovery web page for more recycling information.
