Temporary EV bay closure in Sturt Car Park 14

The College of Medicine and Public Health is conducting ‘mass casualty field practicals’ on 29 and 30 May, with medical students in action beside their paramedic ambulance shed at Sturt campus. To allow space for this activity, two of the four EV charging stations will be unavailable on those days. Please use the adjacent spaces or charge your EV in a different carpark. Anyone who usually parks in car park 14, please drive slowly and exercise caution when the practical exercises are underway and students and staff are in the car park.

Advance notice of July electrical maintenance works

Every three years, Flinders tests its high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) electrical systems, which requires power outages ranging in length. During the July mid-semester break, we are combining the HV testing with the installation of a new transformer for the Biology building, to minimise disruption to learning.

This will involve all South Ridge buildings over weekends of 6-7 July and 13-14 July, and the Education building on North Ridge on 21 July.

Over coming weeks, details will be available on signage in the area, sent in emails and through college-specific communication channels. May safety switch testing and the tag & test program continues in CSE buildings during May. Please contact Pram Kalubowila with any questions.

Refurbishments underway

To optimise space and enable both co-location and growth of teams, parts of the Professional Services and Registry buildings are being refurbished. Current works in the Registry building include:

• Design approvals to reconfigure and improve layout in People and Culture on level 0.

• New furniture arrives this week for multiple teams on level 2, including Government and External Relations, Business Intelligence and Planning, Alumni and Advancement, and Media and Communications.

• Completion of renovations in room 117 on level 1 (pictured right) with the International Call Centre team moving in, allowing for co-location of the growing International Services team.

• Governance, Legal and Risk are relocating from level 1 to level 2 of the Professional Services Building.

Improvement projects in CSE buildings and car park 7

Work on the new ground floor undergraduate science lab redevelopment are progressing well – as is the roof renewal/stormwater upgrade in and around Physical Sciences and car park 7. If you work in CSE buildings, check out the updates on the CSE Central SharePoint page. Visitors to the area, please note that the compound and barriers may change and/or move around Anchor Court, so follow directions on signage and allow extra time to take detours.
