Two new policies – Naming and Staff Recognition – have recently been approved and are now live in the Flinders Policy Library, filed under recently approved policies.
The Naming Policy outlines the basis upon which a University asset or activity may be named after an individual or organisation, in recognition of highly distinguished service to the University or the community, a philanthropic gift, or a commercial naming arrangement.
This Policy provides conditions for naming, including minimal expected financial contribution for a gift or commercial naming arrangement. It also sets out the process for making a naming proposal and the authorities for approving a naming. The Naming Policy replaces the Recognition of Service, Donation, Significant Contributions or Personal Achievement policy, which previously governed naming.
The Staff Recognition Policy provides the basis on which awards may be established in recognition of staff service or performance. It includes a list of all the awards currently in place to recognise staff service or performance, and links to the rules and eligibility for each award. The Staff Recognition Policy replaces the rescinded Recognition of Service, Donation, Significant Contributions or Personal Achievement policy, which previously governed the establishment of staff awards.
