Slow down around campus

Safety Switch Testing

The University’s mandatory electrical Safety Switch testing will take place in South Ridge buildings next week, as follows:

  • Biology Aquaculture, Biology Discovery Centre – Monday 4 November
  • Biology Discovery Centre – Tuesday 5 November
  • NERF – Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 November
  • Data Centre – Friday 8 November.

Testing requires a short power outage, conducted between midnight and 8am to minimise disruption.

Electrical Appliance Test and Tag

Testing and tagging of appliances will take place at Tonsley, MOB and on South Ridge in November. This work will be conducted during business hours, so be prepared for laptop chargers, monitors etc to be tested. Testing requires appliances to be powered down.

Slow down around campus

As part of our ongoing safety initiatives, we’ll have speed signage that displays the speed of your vehicle placed in various locations at Bedford Park. These units will move around campus in the coming weeks, to remind everyone to slow down. Please remember the speed limit on University Drive is 50km an hour, Ring Road is 40km an hour and in car parks is between 10km and 20km an hour. There may be lower speed limits in place where works are occurring. Please observe all speed limits and help keep our students and staff safe.
