The Alumni Awards Policy provides the basis for Flinders University to acknowledge the significant contributions made by its graduates. Covering the Convocation Medal, Distinguished Alumni Award, Early Career Alumni Award and the new John Moriarty AM Impact Award, the policy has recently been reviewed in line with the requirements of the Flinders Policy Framework.

Revisions to the policy arising from the review include:

• revised composition of the Alumni Awards Selection Committee
• streamlined selection process
• amended limits for each award
• introduction of a new award to recognise graduates who have significantly contributed to the advancement, wellbeing and empowerment of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities – the John Moriarty AM Impact Award.
