Accessible ramp temporary closure

From 6am on Thursday 29 May until 8am on Friday 30 May, the accessible ramp between car park 9 and the McHughs Building will be closed so minor repairs can be made.

Please use the alternative route via the SILC and Earth Sciences building, as previously used during construction and installation of the ramp.

Advance notice of July electrical maintenance works

On the weekends of 6-7 and 12-13 July (in the July mid year break), we will undertake maintenance of our high voltage (HV) electrical systems in all buildings on North Ridge. The works are part of essential compliance upgrades and involve power outages of variable times. For safety, buildings and lifts will be closed during works. More details will follow.

Library refurbishment

On Monday 9 June, Flinders Connect will be temporarily relocated to level 1 of the Central Library, while level 0 (library ground floor) undergoes refurbishment.

Construction works begin on Monday 16 June and there will be no access to level 0 of the Central Library from the Student Hub or Plaza during works.

Access to the level 0 library staff section and level 0 toilets will remain open – with access from the steps and lift within the library only. Please follow signage for redirections throughout this time.

Tonsley façade works

If you work in or visit Flinders at Tonsley, please be aware works are underway to replace some panels on the northern and southern façades and around some doorways.

Now that replacement panels have been manufactured, they will be installed from 2 June to 8 August. An elevated work platform and scaffold will be used, so please follow any directions on signage and don’t cross into the work zone. Access to the Flinders building will be maintained, and pedestrian diversions in place around the work zone.

June power outage in Biological Sciences Building

Advance notice that between 5:45am and 11:00am on Saturday 14 June, the Biological Sciences Building will be closed while power is temporarily switched off. The building will be closed during works, as part of the ongoing works to refurbish labs on levels 1 and 2. Please follow directions on signage during works.

Law and Commerce Building boiler replacement complete!

The Law and Commerce Building now has two new reverse cycle air sourced hot water heating units, improving the reliability of air conditioning services for students and staff. It also contributes to Flinders’ 2030 Sustainability Strategy by reducing reliance on fossil fuels and eliminating use of gas.
