July Safety Switch (RCD) testing and equipment Test & Tag

RCD (safety switch) testing will be conducted through July in the following buildings and spaces:

• Humanities

• Matthew Flinders Theatre / Drama Centre

• Central Library

• Student Hub / Union building

• Plaza

• Professional Services Building

• Registry / Registry Annexe

• Flinders Living.

RCD testing is conducted out of ordinary business hours.

In July electrical equipment testing and tagging will be conducted in the Biological Sciences building. Testing and tagging takes place during business hours. Technicians will ask to test equipment on your desks.

Tonsley building – panel replacement

Works to replace some panels on the Tonsley building façade is ongoing through July. While it will look the same, the new panels will meet the updated Australian Standards for safe and compliant cladding. An elevated work platform and scaffold is being used, so please be aware of your surroundings, follow any directions on signage and please don’t cross into the work zone.

Campus lighting upgrades

We are upgrading old and inefficient lighting around the Bedford Park campus, replacing it with brighter and more energy efficient LED lighting. Paths and walkways around Health Sciences, Student Centre, Biological Sciences and Engineering have been completed.

By the end of July, Lake Road with have new lighting that will provide all campus users with brighter, safer lighting for easier movement around campus during winter months.
