Australians are now losing nearly $3 billion each year to financial scams (ACCC, 2023). It’s critical that we, as staff and educators, remain informed about the latest scam trends, not only to protect ourselves but also to help raise awareness among our community. Our role in disseminating best practices is more important than ever.
The National Anti-Scam Centre, a division of the ACCC, have kindly offered to deliver a session for our staff and students. The session will provide expert guidance on identifying and avoiding scams, with practical insights relevant to our university community.
Please join us to hear from James Silcock, Assistant Director at the National Anti-Scam Centre (ACCC), as he explains how you can protect yourself and your community from financial scams.
Date and Time: 11am, Monday 11 August, 2025
