Campus presentation works
Works are underway across Bedford Park to tidy up in preparation for Orientation.
You may notice drones cleaning windows on the Registry, Health Sciences and Education buildings, Health Science Lecture Theatre Complex and University Hall; pressure cleaning around main entrances and paths and line marking in car parks. Remember to shut your windows.
Please stay out of work zones, as directed by signage and staff.
Hub flooring
Works to replace the flooring on levels 1 and 2 of the Student Hub have been ongoing over the summer break. Level 2 is now complete with brand new vinyl tiles.
The final stage is underway now with the following access changes:
- The northern stairs and lift – access levels 1 and 2 via the southern stairs and lift
- Between the Hub on level 1 and Flinders Connect, NVI and Learning Lounge and Library – access via the Plaza instead.
Please note access to Flinders International, FUSA, informal study space and the Tavern will be via the Hub southern lift and stairs during works. All works will be completed by Friday 6 February.
Electrical compliance
The February schedule of compliance testing and tagging and electrical maintenance of safety switches (residual current devices or RCDs) will be conducted in the following buildings from 9 February (unless advised below):
| Test and tag of electrical appliances | Safety switch/RCD testing |
| Technicians will test equipment such as laptop chargers, monitors and desk equipment, so if you have appliances in a secure cupboard or room, please arrange a time to have them tested. Please ensure devices are powered down and save your work before you leave each day. | This testing requires a short power outage, and to minimise disruption will therefore be conducted out of usual hours (between 6am and 9am) unless otherwise advised.
Remember to save your work before you leave each day. |

We have two fantastic new retail offerings at Bedford Park this year – with owners busily renovating their spaces to open in time for Orientation.
Watch this space for more news about:
- A Pot Called Kettle – in the Professional Services building (former location of Grind & Press)
- Honey Bee yoghurt and dessert bar – at the southern end of the Plaza (former location of Curry Campus.)
For more information head to our Food and Retail web page.
