Furniture refresh
Outdoor furniture and booths in Anchor Court are being updated during March and April. Some of the booths are being relocated to Bull Court (Earth Sciences courtyard). New Anchor Court booths and furniture will be onsite in May.
From mid-April new furniture will be delivered to level 2 of the Student Hub with the existing furniture relocated and reused in other areas on campus. In addition, a new joinery bench is being installed in the southern (Wildernest) end of the site, adjacent to the stairs.
Electrical maintenance
The April schedule of compliance testing – test and tagging of electrical appliances, and electrical safety switch (residual current devices or RCDs) testing will be conducted in the following buildings from Monday 30 March:
- Sturt precinct (all buildings)
- Alan Mitchell Sports Centre
- Sports Pavillion.
For test and tag: technicians will test equipment such as laptop chargers, monitors and desk equipment, so if you have appliances in a secure cupboard or room, please arrange a time to have them tested. Please ensure devices are powered down and save your work before you leave each day.
RCD testing requires a short power outage, and to minimise disruption will therefore be conducted out of usual hours (between 6am and 9am) unless otherwise advised.
Remember to save your work before you leave each day.
Renmark High School
Thanks to the growth of our medicine and allied health programs in regional areas, the University has recently leased some space from Renmark High School. This extra room has given us four new teaching spaces for group work and hands‑on learning, plus an informal study area for students and a breakout room with kitchen facilities. Outside, there’s also a covered outdoor dining area with seating for 34 people.
Teaching officially kicked off onsite on Monday 16 March, with staff and students enjoying the new furniture, fresh paint, updated AV equipment, extra storage, a new fridge and boiling and chilled filtered water in the kitchen.
