Work is underway on the Applications and Admissions Project, a key strategic university initiative focused on improving how future students apply to study at Flinders and how staff support them through that process.
Applying to university is a big moment. This project is about making that experience clearer, more inclusive and easier to navigate for students, while also reducing complexity and manual effort for staff behind the scenes.
Over time, applications and admissions at Flinders have grown more complex, with different systems and processes supporting different cohorts. This project is taking a fresh look at the experience aiming to simplify how things work and set us up for the future.
Right now, the project team is working with staff across the University to understand applicant journeys, business processes and the technology that supports applications and admissions. Early work is already highlighting how important user experience, data quality and system integration are to getting this right.
Looking ahead, the project will assess options for future admissions platforms and explore the feasibility of transitioning applicant cohorts. There will be opportunities for staff involvement as the work progresses, with updates shared through Flinders in Touch.
