More than just a test of knowledge, the Office of Global Engagement’s Trivia Afternoon on Friday brought staff together from across the University for an engaging afternoon of connection, laughter and friendly competition.
Delivered by Bevan from Sound Storm Trivia and funded by the University’s Campus Activation initiative, the event combined general knowledge, global-themed questions and a selection of Flinders-focused trivia. Teams gathered around tables to tackle four spirited rounds of questions, with plenty of opportunities for networking, conversation and good-natured rivalry along the way. The event was designed to facilitate connection across Flinders staff while contributing to a vibrant campus culture.
The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was energetic and welcoming, with staff embracing the opportunity to step away from their usual routines, meet colleagues from different parts of the University and test their knowledge.
Events such as this demonstrate the value of creating informal opportunities for staff to connect. While competition was certainly on display, the strongest theme of the afternoon was collaboration, with teams pooling their collective knowledge, celebrating unexpected successes and sharing plenty of laughs along the way!
Now to our winners!
First: Hanna Quizinska and the Safe Words.
Second: Don’t Ask Us.
Third: Global Domination.
And the wooden spoon went to…. Resumes without Borders!
The Office of Global Engagement extends its thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to making the event such a success, especially those who enthusiastically embraced even some of the curlier questions (‘general knowledge’ was a bit of a stretch at times!), and who helped create a warm, inclusive and enjoyable experience for all involved. Extra special thanks go to Bevan from Soundstorm Trivia, whose professional hosting and humour kept the energy high throughout the afternoon, and to the staff at The Tav for their support in delivering a welcoming and enjoyable event experience.
