Works in the Central Library
Works to renew spaces on level 1 of the Library kick off later this month with access changes in place from Monday 24 August. Access will be closed between level 2 of the Student Hub, through level 1 of the Library to Humanities, the Laneway, Matthew Flinders Theatre and car park 5.
Some level 1 services/facilities will be relocated to level 2 until works end in early November. Redirection signage will be in place in the coming weeks to help. Please note, staff spaces on the northern side of the building will be accessible from other floors and northern stairs and lifts.
Cranes on campus
If you’re at Bedford Park on South Ridge, you may notice cranes around the Physical Sciences building on Saturday 15 August for the Roof and Mechanical Renewal project, and Monday 17 August for the Electrical Back-up and Supply project. Former car park 7 will be closed for access and deliveries during crane lifts.
During the crane lifts, the contractor will have spotters and pedestrian traffic management signage in place. Please follow any contractor directional signage or advice diverting you from your usual path of travel.
Reminder: Parking restrictions on Open Day
On Friday 14 August, the upper levels of both car park 1 and 9 will be closed for vehicular parking to allow school buses to park, and school students to safely alight and board.
If you usually park in these car parks, please use alternate levels, nearby car parks and Campus Buses, or public transport that day.
- Car park 1 users – please use the middle and lower levels as these are not impacted.
- Car park 9 users – please use the lower level and gravel area as these are not impacted.
Please note that campus buses, fleet parking and EV bays will still operate from car park 9 that day.
Please take extra care, follow the directions from parking attendants and observe the speed limit of 20km/hour.
