New induction requirements are now in place for casual staff. Learn what’s changing and what it means for casual employees.
All academic and professional casual staff members must now complete the ‘New Staff Induction – Casual Staff’ online module in the Staff Learning Portal.
New casual employees in these roles will be automatically assigned the module during onboarding, while existing casual employees have now been assigned the module and have 30 days to complete it.
Supervisors must provide casual staff with one hour of paid time to complete the training and must monitor completion through the Staff Learning Portal.
Casual staff will be required to complete refresher training every 12 months.
Casual student engagement, casual chief invigilator and casual invigilator employees will now be required to complete a checklist-based induction.
For new employees, hiring managers will receive a Service One task requesting new staff upload the completed checklist-based induction as part of the onboarding process.
Line Manager will be notified via email whether existing casual staff members will be required to complete the new checklist-based induction.
Additional information, resources and FAQs are available on the Casual Staff webpage.
